Course Overview

This course covered a wide range of areas in networking. Networking infrastructure introduced items like switches, routers, and cabling. The concept of data flow on networks covered areas such as routing protocols, IP addressing, physical and logical ports, and topologies to name a few. The concepts of security and troubleshooting networking issues were also introduced.

What I learned

I learned a great deal in this course! I learned the ways that data moves from a computer onto the network and to its destination. This was all encapsulated in the OSI and TCP/IP models. I learned many of the applications that Microsoft servers use to provide many available services. I also learned about the TCP/IP protocols used in networking. It was a very informative and interesting look behind the scenes of what goes on all the time around us, invisible to most. This is all information that I will use regularly in my future career.
