This page provides a summary of the courses completed so far at Davis Tech. I have also included a brief description of what was covered in each of the classes.
Why I chose Information Technology
I attended the University of Utah from 2012 to 2015. I entered the University with the intent to major in Architecture, and that was my declared major for my first year. I discovered an interest in urban planning, and ultimately decided that, while still interested in architecture, It wasn’t what I wanted to turn into my career.
During my younger years, I had always had an affinity for technology. I had taken our computer inside to get a look at what made it work. This being the case I had figured that Computer Science was a great next choice! I decided to declare my major in Computer Science at the end of the next year.
In the beginning, I had struggled, having had no prior introduction into how computers really worked or programming concepts. After my first class in this field, I just knew that it was right for me. It was challenging but also very rewarding. I continued for two years in the Computer Science program, then I had decided that due to my circumstances at the time, it was best to leave college and begin working to save money for my return.
It has been five years since I attended the U, and have recently decided that now is the right time to return to college to finally finish my degree. I am attending Davis Tech to get my foot in the door in the industry. I then plan to work in a related field while working to get my much-anticipated degree.

What Did I Learn There?
The program at Davis Tech is self-paced. This means that you have a set start and end date and are required to attend during your scheduled times. This means that you may move faster than the pace set for the class, but not slower. The classes are also set up with smaller milestones (called modules) with a sufficient amount of time to complete the assigned work. this means that it is one’s own responsibility to keep pace and stay on task. This helps us to build self discipline and to teach us time management.
