Course Overview

This course taught me how to perform queries on databases using MariaDB. It covered simple queries on single tables and more complex queries on multiple tables. This course covered the many ways to join tables, getting totals using aggregate functions, grouping data, and filtering grouped data.

What I learned

I learned the syntax of SQL queries. This class also provided me with some experience using databases, their basic structure, and instruction on how to perform simple and complex queries. I also learned how to formulate queries from requests by being able to identify what is being requested and how to find the information in a database. I also learned the importance of having familiarity with the structure of the database to be able to find and link necessary information. This will allow me to effectively be able to perform queries from databases while on the job, when given requests.
